chambering rounds

I rotate and inspect. Before I found Federal HSTs and Speer Gold Dots, I carried the Hornady TAPS. They were terrible about seating further after very few chamberings. I fired one that had set further back and it blew powder all over my face out of a 1911. Luckily I was wearing glasses.

since i am not a reloader as of yet, i didn't realize how easy it was to alter a round or how dangerous it could be. thanks everybody for the great information. i've learned a lot. makes me want to buy a good caliper. i value my hands, eyes, etc. as well as my guns too much to harm them. thanks again.

Increased pressures aren't just from repeat chambered ammo. It's rare, but I've seen 9mm rounds improperly seated in quality factory ammo twice. I inspect before I load, new or not. One was Remington, I can't remember what the other was, but it was +P+ to start.
