what is the purpose of the hook ? It doesnt look like a gut hook..... the 5 x & 2 dots will tell you the date this one was made.

The hook goes up the vent and you twist and pull the entrails out. Mostly for dove, quail, and small birds.

The model 302 is the same thing in the yellow handle. Also unobtanium.

At this point I wouldn’t care what material of the handle or color. Just would like to find one!

Good luck. I think if you do find it, it will be in some old man’s pocket and pretty well not for sale. But who knows ?

The hook is so you can reach through the throat of a bird whose head you have just removed, and pull out most of the guts.

Some cut around the fundament before doing this some don't

I have one that is a Buck, new, unused.
