I have a wood trap I built that isn't working too well this year. I've seen a trick where you fill a brown paper bag, the old grocery store one, with plastic bags for filler. The bees are supposed to see it as a hornets nest and stay away. You hang the bag like you would a trap. Has anyone heard of or used this trick ?

I saw one hanging from a friend's front porch last summer. I had no idea what was. He explained to me what it was and said that it worked better than anything he'd ever tried. I had actually forgotten all about it too until you posted this. I've got a pretty good carpenter be problem myself. I'll hang one up tomorrow.

This is so timely. I just built a shed recently and they are tearing into it! I've been looking at solutions. Found a pesticide you can spray on the wood and works as a good deterrent. I may try the bag trick first.
