It's a bastardized Enfield.

It's a sporterized British Enfield No 4. Looks like it was made in 1943. Quite common no great value.

Echo that. Definitely an Enfield that someone (sadly) dropped into an after market sporter stock back in the day.

It's just a shooter now. $250ish bucks..maybe.

That's the figure that popped in my head too, FWIW. Condition as is, that'd be my offer for a piece like this.

Doesn't look to be abused. Just that in 2024, people looking for an old Enfield action are typically wanting it in original configuration. OR they have one and need some of the parts to refurb it.

They are typically pretty good shooters though. Smooth, fast to cycle, accurate, hold 10 rounds of a legit full powered cartridge (albeit getting hard to find these days)
