Camping Near Washington, DC

I am new to the DC area and wanted to know some good spots to camp. Either a over night hike (7-15 mile). OR a spot to drive to and pitch a tent. Hopefully a National Forest or WMA.

Last time I was in DC, I saw plenty of urban outdoorsman. You should try something a little different.

Pitch a tent on the national Mall and while you're there you can wet a line in the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

Wear a MAGA hat and they might let you pitch a tent in the rose garden at the White House.
