Bullet velosity revolver vs rifle

all things equal bullet/barrell length/grain,etc Would the bullet travel further with the same impact power from a rifle or revolver? would the rifle have more ,because the chamber is closed/ sealed and the gas is built up to launch the bullet with more velosity
not sure if I explained it well.. curious

Generally speaking, longer barrels will produce higher bullet velocity and a more stable trajectory.

You lose some gas out of the space between the revolvers cylinder and barrel. That will lower the velocity

that was my thoughts as well but what would be the % 10-50?

You'll lose a little from the cylinder gap. Not much. The Soviets figured it was a big enough deal to implement the 1895 Nagant revolver, which is a sweet piece of engineering, however the loss in velocity resulting from the cylinder gap is mostly inconsequential.
