My guess is an issue that he didn't know he had. This play is what it took to cause the issue.

Been watching football for 50 years and I have never seen an ambulance on the field.

I wish all the best for this young man.

Only time I have seen an ambulance on the field was at a high school football game. Punter got hit. Didn't get up. Found out later he had a ruptured spleen.
