Bought my First Civil War Revolver.

Hey SlyCooper0203 SlyCooper0203 :

This is a nice piece.

This kind of initial compliment, from this man is a big plus. Rabbit2047 knows his sh** when it comes to those historical bang sticks and boomboxes.

Find someone that is EXPERIENCED in repairing these weapons, not some jackass that stuck a trigger spring in a Glock and thinks he can fix anything....good luck.

In for details when repaired or refinished details and pics !

Lawdy... I appreciate the kind words. Just wait till you see what I post up for sale when I finish it. I stumbled into a Dance Brothers revolver recently and am in the process of repairing and restoring it. It will be a beaut she I get finished. Probably gonna ask $30000 for it.

No kiddn ? A real DB revolver? I have held a few counterfeit ones, never a real one.
I will need to hook up with you one day for lunch to personally look at that !

Thank you guys so much for the information, as well as the support. A few years ago I had a real nice sharps carbine and Spencer carbine. I don’t know what I was thinking...when I let both of those go. I wanted to switch gears with my collection and go more antique, rather than Ww2. My passion for civil war collecting started when I was able to visit Fort Moultrie, SC and Fort Sumter, SC.. my wife and I got engaged on Fort Moultrie’s beach back in Feb of 2020.. anyways, here’s some more pictures

Here’s a picture of the sharps and Spencer I let go. The Spencer I got $2500 for and the sharps I sold for $1600
Does it do it on the same cylinder every time? If so your cylinder may need repair, otherwise it's more than likely a weak hand spring.
it will do it on the second time.. example: I pull hammer back: the cylinder rotates. I repeat this a second time and the cylinder won’t turn entirely over the 2nd nipple.

I love bp revolvers and would love to add a Whitney to my collection one day. I have a couple of Spiller and Burr repro's that are kinda similar. I had them defarbed recently and now I'm having cylinder rotating issues. I have to send them back for repair. The presentation case is a repurposed cutlery box.
