AR15 7.62x39 MAGAZINE QUESTION

Does it require a special magazines to run 7.62x39? i have built the rifle and even test fired it by putting a round in a regular .223 mag. it picked it up just fine, locked, fired and ejected the round, and the bolt locked back just like it is supposed to.

So, my question. do i need a special magazine?

i have used 223 mags with 3 or 4 round with no problems CProducts makes a pretty good 7.62x39 mag

The ASC mags work perfectly.

im not so sure of that anymore.

I bought two ASC and a USA frankenmag last year. All three work perfect.

I bought 4 more ASC mags in december, I have had them loaded for a few weeks, and went out hunting yesterday and was having lots of issues. My AR wasnt stripping the rounds out, and then I would empty them by hand, the mags would get hung up and not push the rounds up.

I might order some extra power mag springs to see if that helps
