whilst working bird 'hunting' plantations there were guys that wouldn't waste a bullet and would just use the shovel. Not much use for those guys... when there was always someone there to take the dogs as pets that wasn't up to snuff hunting.
A dog that will not hunt is like a plow horse that doesn’t pull. These are working animals. Lots of wasted money in letting a **** eater live and eat amongst your working dogs.
when we had one that wouldn't hunt or was too hard headed we didnt waste money on them, just found a home for them.
I agree. Bird dogs in general are easier to house than a slobbering, loud, dumb, and smelly hound dog.
Most decent places will "re purpose" the dogs that don't measure up....seems easier than digging holes...
