I had a 42 yr old friend fall out of his Cherokee Co. tree stand and died a few years ago. RIP Gary.
He’s a coworkers relative.
Im not sure if any details like: did he have a safety fall system or not?
I’m suspecting not but I don’t want to jump to any conclusions.
Apparently he’s from Dahlonega and will be in a halo for a few months .
Super lucky he didn’t break C3 otherwise he would have suffocated but broke pretty much everything surrounding C-3.
Was able to text his Wife from the ground and ask for help.
Was a very daunting task for the rescue workers which included finding him, stretchering him out-took 1.5 hours.
Getting to a ATV access spot but was too bumpy to attempt.
This was all second hand info from a relative so that’s all I know.
Apparently he’s gonna be okay despite healing and what all comes with this type of injury.
Miracle to live through this.

The neck is a very powerful thing.
My mom has arthritis…..she tripped on a throw rug, fell headfirst onto the corner bead of a wall , gashed her face wide open and broke her neck in three places.
Had a halo for a few months .
this was a couple years ago and she’s literally back to normal.
Toughest lady I know.
