I am looking for something for treating gunshot wounds and other trauma injuries. Something along the lines of a weekend "combat medic course". Anybody out there offer this??

Suarez International usually has one or two a year in this area. Check out their schedule and see.

Talon Defense usually runs some. They've just started teaching at South River. They have a ditch medicine course scheduled for sometime this or next month I believe. Check their facebook site.

I just took the Patriot Nurse medical prep 101/201 course recently and she and some other students couldn't recommend the dark angel medical class more highly. Going to take it myself sooner or later.
4G Tactical offers what you are looking for. They are developing a new site near Lake Lanier this year so it is possible to take close by. They have some other great courses as well.
