Guys,

I recently acquired a Glock 36 with a polished barrel and some holster wear on the slide. I've been thinking about fixing the holster wear by trying to polish the slide to a mirror finish that would match the barrel. I have been searching all over the internet and have seen lots of people do it but not many suggestions on HOW to get to the mirror finish. Does anyone have any experience with this that could give me some pointers?

It requires many, many sanding steps. Starting as low as 400 grit, all the way to 1000 grit. Most metals will polish out from there with a polishing wheel. Caution must be taken, because there is material lose, and light stampings can be lost. Anything lazer etched will almost always be lost. Sorry, no experience in the Glock world. Jmac, definitey knows how to do wonders with glocks.

Jmac knows his stuff, as already stated. Or you can take it to Glock and they can refinish the slide. I think its like $45?
