I'm not big on country music at all but I love bluegrass! Yeah, I'm weird.
Maybe because good bluegrass or old time music is raw and real. I grew up at festival's every weekend thanks to my grandfather. He is gone but the bluegrass lives on in me, 80% of what I listen to is hillbilly music of some sort.
I listen to blues, jazz, soul, and bluegrass. I was looking for Taj Mahal recordings and found Taj playing with Doc Watson on Prairie Home Companion. Them two playing "rolling in my sweet baby's arms" turned me into a big fan over 12 years ago.
Used to go to the big bluegrass festival in Dahlonega years ago. That was always a lot of fun, don't really know why they stopped having it.
