Any one here ever built a safe door?

Buddy has one with concrete walls all the way around (including ceiling) in his basement. He has 1/4 diamond plate steel door and frame that opens to the inside. It is his tornado room also, hence open to inside so as not to be trapped by debris in an emergency.
Also, hinges would be on the inside, not vulnerable to attack.

Just use an existing closet, install deadbolt, add either a radiation
warning or 'authorized personnel only' sign. That ought to keep
the riff raff out (if they can read). Glad to help out, no charge.

If I was a burglar in a house, an “Authorized Personal Only” sign wouldn’t keep me out of a room. As a matter of fact, it would pique my curiosity and make dang sure that I go in that room.

If I saw a sign on a door in a residence that said something about “Radiation Warning”, I wouldn’t believe it and would go in anyways.

Had a friend that bought an old bank vault door. Lots of work to install, but impressive once done.

It cost a lot to move it to his job site, though.
