But it still has a mic. Turning it off won’t help either. You have to take the battery out if you don’t want them to have access. If you drive a newer car it has a mic as well. Any mic, any camera, any smart device is theirs whenever they want it. I have first hand knowledge of these things. I watch Blind Spot and Blacklist.
