Either you are weak or its staked.....One or the other....Well I guess it could be both...lol

Lol might be..no I was putting all my weight into it and it wouldnt budge..there's a darker discoloration around the threads where the nut is, that's why I was wondering if maybe they used some sort of thread locker on it

When I took my Armalite upper apart everything was super tight. I used a little Kroil and let it sit for a minute and then it budged.

If need be, get a punch set and a good hammer. Use the appropriate sized punch and place it in one of the notches on the castle nut and hit it a few times with the hammer. Repeat if necessary until the nut breaks loose. Since you are replacing the current stock with an A2 stock, the castle nut will no longer be needed.
