5th Armordillo Down

They are nocturnal. They will come out in the day if it is freezing out. They sleep 16-20 hours a day. Primarily active after sundown. They have about an 8 acre area they range over. They need to eat everyday as they don’t have fat stores.
I’ve got one this year and one last year. A new one popped up this weekend and decimated my yard. I’m keeping my eyes on the cameras to see if he comes out.
They do a lot of damage at our farm. I keep a .22 rifle with a suppressor and a flashlight by the door.
I got 13 last year and only 2 this year, but they’re still messing up my yard… I’ll keep popping them until the word gets around that they’re not welcome here.
I hate those digging bastards. I had a family of them. Mom and 2 little ones. Note “had” a family of them. Kill em all
So a .22 works on them? I have a couple of these suckers and have been plinking away with a pellet rifle to the noggin.

With the suppressor, I shoot CCI standard velocity, which works just fine. The sound of it hitting the shell reminds me of when women used to hang their bed comforter on the cloths line and whack it with a broom. It is quite effective. That round penetrates enough to do lethal damage, and usually, they run off far enough that I don't have to dispose of the body.
