.458 Socom... advice and results

These are just a few of the ones I’ve loaded. No chrono data yet, but they all function reliably and I’ve seen good groups at 50 and 100 yards.

have you chronograph the 325 ftx with Lilgun? what FPS were you getting?? what primers were you using?

I have loaded different powder weights from 28.2 all the way up to 29.9 gn powder. bullet speed average between 1700 and 1850 ft per second depending. I use CCI lg pistol

I've been itching to build a SOCOM on a bolt action Savage using a 20" barrel. I like the shouldered case over the Bushmaster heads pacing on the case mouth.

Some Hornady 325gr FTX loaded in starline new brass, CCI 300 large pistol primers 32.61gr Lilgun COAL 2.14 should bring 1800fps @4130 muzzle.

If you reload .458 SOCOM get a case length gauge from TROMIX... this is a must for head space and bullet spacing and testing before chambering.

325 gr. Hornady FTX loads..were loaded hot 1920 ft per sec was the fastest. now my shoulder is bruised..but had fun doing it.. I think I will take it down to 28/29 gr LILgun..
