45 Colt snakeshot

Picked up some Speer shot capsules for the 45 Colt. Their load data insert covers Unique, 231, TiteGroup, 700-X, and Bullseye. Closest thing I have to those is Hodgdon Universal. The caps weigh about 10 great and hold approx 150 great of 9 shot. Hodgdon starting load for a 160 gr cast is 6.5 gr of Universal and gives 7400 CUP. The gun is a Uberti Schofield so I want to stay on the low side. Has anyone used Universal for snakeshot loads? Any recommendations?

I haven't used Universal in shotshells but I do know that pressure levels are lower with shot than with bullets. You might want to contact Speer and get their advice.
