Have a '92 Hardbody 4WD that seems to be stuck in 3rd gear I think, maybe 5th, not sure. Could be 4th for all I know... Definitely not 1st and probably not 2nd as it was tricky to get rolling from a stopped position to move the truck around. Ran fine one day, went to go somewhere the next day and it was stuck.

2WD, 4WD low and 4WD high seem to work just fine.

At this point we've taken the transmission out (that was a bear) and are trying to figure out how to, with it stuck in gear, separate the transaxle from the transmission, to take it somewhere that knows how to work on or rebuild them. Any suggestions on how to separate them and where to go on the south side of Atlanta, Macon, Columbus areas?

The part inside the transmission that the shifter shaft sits in (the bushing was still on the shifter...saw that suggestion in the "1994 Nissan tranny trouble" thread from last year), seems to move around a bit,,,, forward, back and side to side, but it remains in gear, no matter where its moved.

Found these pieces in between the bell housing and transmission.

Anybody recognize the part on the left? Can't seem to find it in any diagrams online.
