Description of event: Admission to 1 day Small Unit Tactics course (Non-tier 1 member). Description and analysis of "fighting rifle" and kit required for fire and maneuver. Rifle zero and brief marksmanship class. Basic concepts of fire and maneuver (bounding and buddy teams/fire team or element/ multiple elements or platoon sized). Patrol planning, formations, and analysis of terrain (OCOKA/METT-TC). Simulated patrols and force-on-force exercises. Student must bring operating kit (day pack or rucksack), rifle and magazines, eye and ear protection, and 300-500 rounds of ammunition. Lunch and water/hydration drinks included in course.
