Heading down for a hunt this afternoon followed by a morning hunt tomorrow. My 16 year old is going. He hasn't been with his dad in at least 4 years. He's killed a few does before but wants to wait for a good sized buck. I hope he gets a chance although I certainly wouldn't mind if he thinned out a doe or two...besides the freezer is now empty.

Got to stand at 6:20a. Nice doe standing at 167yds at day break. Two more shortly behind her. Shot 1st doe and the other two stood still upwind. They walked off pasture and into the woods a few minutes later. About five minutes went by and they came out at 197 yds downwind in a peanut field. They walked across the field and into planted pines. Passed the last two and sitting still to see if I can rattle out a buck by mid-morning.

Seen 9 so far, mostly does, but couple of young bucks. Little windy here and not as cold as I'd like, but still a nice morning.
