I have the M&P15R 5.45x39 upper on a New Frontier Poly Lower. That trigger was glass-breaking awesome! Now I have it on a S&W M&P-15 Magpul MOE lower. Just because I'm anal and like matching guns.
If you want to trade your Adams Arm upper for my S&W M&P15MOE upper, it's 5.56/223 :-P I'll build...
I have a question.
Is it possible to chop off 1/2 an inch or so of the barrel, THEN get it threaded. Then tap the 1/2" that was cut off so that it can be used as the thread protector??
I have the stainless bull barrel, and I want it to look flush and finish when the thread protector is on...
After a few hundred rounds, it does smooth out. I didn't really find the need for the Apex since I dont do competition, and I dont really carry it either.
Even if I do carry it, the trigger pull is still light enough.
Would it have a higher trade value if I get it resurfaced first? Like Duracoat or Cerekote??
Or should I leave as is considering it's the two toned limited version :-/
Decision decision.
Order Sam Lam's bushing and call it a day.
I had so much issues getting that thing back together. So I just went ahead and ordered the bushing. Once I got that in there, it was a piece of cake to take apart and put back together again. Plus no more mag safety :-)

$160...
I guess I'll do it myself :-) I'm pretty handy with dremel... just wasn't sure of the difficulty.
I'll post up pictures once it's done.
Resell value never mattered to me :-)
I have an ambi-safety 1911... the grips I ordered sadly, are not. I'm pretty sure I can easily sell the grips... but I really like them.
Should I attempt to dremel away parts to fit for the ambi safety?? I still have the stock grips to use as a guide.
Or should I just nut up and sell them...
Man, I just picked up a Taurus PT1911 that look like it could use the same treatment!! I'll have to find someone locally that can glass/sand blast it for me. I might try the polishing myself :-)
From what I hear, the GSE kit requires about 500 rounds through it at least for "break in" period since the spring is a little tight at first...
Not sure exactly though. I never could get mine to work right. Swapped to the Ace buffer kit, and it's a little smoother... but it's no AK.
I picked up a really old gun from my uncle today. He said it's been sitting in a barn on his farm for a long long time.
There's a whole lotta rust on it. The wood stock and pretty much everything else on the gun look like it's seen some days.
Dont know the exact year, or make, or model...
Fellas,
I got a mini AK-74 pistol that has wood on it. I bought a full size quad rail, and got it chopped up to fit the mini AK since no one make a rail for it.
Now one side of it is bare aluminum. I sanded it down pretty well, but it's still not tacticool looking. How would one go about...
