Best money I spent in a long time was years ago when I bough a bore site kit from Midway or Brownells. Easy to use and actually helps get the scope lined up square as well. Not very expensive if I remember, but well worth the money.
Remember when he used to do his reliability work and installed a tight bushing on Colt's when he could get them?? Man I am kicking myself now for not getting one. I kept saying I'll get one in a few months....have not seen one in his case in years
They dont call him 1911 Bob for nothing.
He doesnt do the fancy checkering and stippling like some of the big names, but I would put his 1911 work against anyones out there. I have owned some VERY nice custom built 1911's by the biggest names, and Bob's triggers are as good or better. Ortiz is...
I agree, but will add one bad thing...the safety is all but inaccessible for a left handed shooter. Thats why mine rarely leaves the safe. I do love them though.
I stand around for an hour because Bob has become a good friend over the last 20 or so years. Good enough that I, and several others, helped keep his doors open while he had his heart repaired years ago. I stand around and talk to him because I value his company and apparently he values mine.
So then why is it everytime I go to Bob Simms in Palmetto I end up standing leaning on his workbench talking for an hour minimum while he works??
Matter of fact I dont care for that disparaging remark about Bob. Bob is good people IMO
