Crown is not damaged and I have had it out of the stock multiple times and tried several different torque settings on the action screws. It is the accustock model.
I gave a Savage 111 in 30-06 to a guy in ministry as he was moving to Colorado. He recently brought it back to ask for help setting up a different scope he had been given so I tried sighting it in. I have no idea what happened and there is no visible damage but it now shoots like crap!

If I understand you, this screw hole will be hidden by the floor plate? If so, drill a slightly oversized hole where the previous screw was located. Insert the appropriate size wooden dowel into that hole with a good wood glue or epoxy. Once dry, sand flush and drill a small pilot hole to guide...
I actually had an overly tight BCM handle on an Aero m4e1 upper recently. Seems like even BCM can make em out of tolerance... (because the finish is gonna get worn anyway I just hit it with some emory cloth on the corners)
