help, I have a Stevens 87 A rifle that needed a firing pin and I found one on eBay and it is a little short. Can I add some length or is there some other fix that would get this rifle to a condition that makes it shoot ?

Aces and Eights in Lawrenceville. Myron is a great guy. Recrowned a barrel for my a while back. Could probably do the set back work the OP asked about. I never asked him about doing that.
Did you get the trigger reset/sticking figured out? I will look in the Khunhausen book to see if it addresses that issue, as I have not seen it happen on any 1911 I have come across.
Good luck at the range.
If I remember correctly the trigger goes in before the mag catch. But you are on the right track. I could look at the Khunhausen books to see what he suggests.
Hello ODT, I have an old military 22lr rifle, and wanted to clean the bolt to make sure that it is not gummed up. I have not been able to get it taken apart, and I wanted to see if any of you might be able to offer suggestions as to the best corse of action to take on this.
Thanks in advance.
Welcome to another addiction. Good luck with the build. I have the Jerry Kuhnhausen books on the 1911. There is a lot of material in them that is area specific, but the index could narrow it down if there are any issues that come up.
Could try Myron @ Aces&8s. He lives in the Buford/Dacula area. Don't know exactly where the shop is now...but he does good work, although I never had a rebarrel done.

Trigger, sear, disconnector, sear spring. As said once you know it is relatively easy...only goes in correct one way, if it doesn't go one way turn part over and try again.
Good luck. You can do it.
