That's a nice looking rifle. All 3 of my AR15s have fixed, a1 length stocks. I like the consistency between them for the purposes of similar cheek welds. Two of mine rock irons and one I have an ACOG on. My go-to rifle has A1 fixed iron sights.
That test is certainly interesting, but I'd like to see results from something other than a bolt action rifle; I'd imagine that would slightly inflate the velocity numbers compared to an AR15.
From what I've heard, a M193 or M855 bullet doesn't reliable fragment unless it's going around...
When it comes to pistols, I've never had trouble remaining threat-focused with iron sights. I don't know if my eyes are just different or if I'm maybe doing something horribly wrong that I don't recognize, but I've never had trouble keeping my eyes focused on the target while aligning...
I'm willing to be that 99% of the time someone is shooting a pistol it isn't with night vision. If someone can afford night vision then they can likely also afford a nice CQC rifle.
People kicked down doors with 20" M16s in Fallujah to great effect. It's possible to use them effectively for...
Well, since this zombie of a thread is up and walking again...
My dad just ordered one of those new LCP2's in .22lr. If his turns out to be reliable then I might seriously consider getting one for myself as a little backup piece.
Kind of off topic, but I think a lot of people in the AR crowd are starting to realize how right Stoner had the AR15 all along. Retro in general is fashionable now, but fixed front sights and to some extent 20" barrels are starting to be seen as functionally advantageous again. Now I'm waiting...
I at one point had 20+ guns. I now have fewer than half of what I had before, and there's still some paring down I could do. I decided a little while ago that I'd rather own fewer nice things than many just-okay things. That, and I'm starting to realize that if you own too many things then...
Month 7, day 19, hour 5. The ATF agent, forever vigilant, continues browsing gun forums in hopes to find the serial numbers of the people on his "gun owners" list. Finally, after $37,884 of taxpayer dollars going to his salary so far this year, finally, gun owner #87,411,663, a particularly...
I'm saying the government already knows which numbers and letters are imprinted onto your firearms. I'd rather they didn't, but at the end of the day the knowledge doesn't do much of anything. Unless you've never visited any gun websites ever, then the government already has a good idea of...
I think the ATF would sooner keep an illegal registry of firearms via 4473 forms rather than browse through gun forums looking for pictures of serial numbers to then try and determine who owns which account.
I've heard that if you report a gun as stolen you have to give your own name and address, that way if you falsely report it as being stolen you can be charged with a crime.
I know this isn't a serious thread, but I'll offer my serious opinion when it comes to the notions of alien life. Follow me through to the end on this.
If alien life exists, and this alien life wasn't created by God, then this life form must have initially formed from inorganic matter. The...
This is why I tell people "Just because someone is a cop or was in the military doesn't mean they know a damn thing about firearms.". They're taught just enough to be dangerous and no more. Any cop or military member that actually knows a lot about firearms learned it from being an enthusiast.
Ah, you again. Unsatisfied with spamming my ad, you've decided to pout in a thread of your own making.
Yeah, I have a rifle for sale. I posted the ad for it. The price is clearly listed and nowhere does it say the original cardboard box is included. He then sends me a PM asking "What is your...
