Must be safety switch, need a manual to locate ALL of them, at least 2, seat and blade, might be others depending. Will need a continunity tester to see if they are working properly, they can be normally open or closed - with the tester when switch is engaged the continunity should change...
Yep, safety switch some how is engaged. Try straight wire from battery to starter should turn over, then track down ALL the safety switches and test them.
Yep, we good, I always expect inspections and details, I got stuck once, on a shotgun where the choke was stuck real good had to get a gunsmith to remove it, gonna miss something’s, in used goods. Unless of course it is a Glock BNIB,

Personally I think be more to do Sporting Clays as opposed to Skeet, which is just mechanical crossing targets, while great for the mechanics practice and lead part of training can be really boring (IMO), same for Trap. SClays is more like golf with a gun and if you have a target that you can...

Now that I see you are so good compared to 45+ other club members - we can ALL learn from you.
Get with a legit shotgun instructor - someone experienced with shotgun/clay shooting. Many people can not see your "true" problem - there can be many. As noted above "never have to look at your barrel" --> pretty much a guaranteed miss when you do.
