    both Vanguard and Fidelity, and many others, have dividend focused mutual funds which target companies with histories of paying consistent and/or higher dividends. Check them out.

    get a good dividend focused mutual fund. spread your money around, not in just one company's stock. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. Vanguard and Fidelity have these, average about 8 % per year.

    SS will be around "forever", because it let's the Gubment "play the float", gives them an excuse/reason to get their hands on your money, hold it for 40 plus years, then dole it back to you. My question is why isn't basic SS retirement based on $15/hour like the Dems are always yelling...

    depends on what you are buying. If it is bullion, ASEs, Canadian Maples, etc. sales tax might be charged. If it is pre-1964, 90% silver US coins Morgan/Peace dollars, etc. then sales tax should not be charged.
