Hey @Spas-12 Owner Give me a shout. From the pics you can probably get away with what we call a redeck and rail. Strip the deck down to the frame. Repair the frame. fix the band/joist separation that your pics are showing, rebuild the stairs from scratch and then install new decking and...
Block between the joist sealing off the sunroom joist bays from those of the deck entirely. Then flash on the top side just as if you are attaching to the house. It is a bit difficult to get all the blocking in tight but be patient. I would also spray foam from the sunroom side around all the...
That pic is a Brazilian hardwood.
On composite I let the ends show. We use Azek and the core is close in color to the surface. I am not a fan of the skirt. A painted stringer does the trick and eliminates the debris trap of the skirt rising up over the end of the board. We are big on...
Gap at the bottom let’s leaves and debris fall through easily. Trex sells a facia you can buy and rip to fit if you don’t like the gap. Or you can use a 1x8 hardi and paint it for a more interior stair look
In all serious. All the “hard to work with” stuff is a little overblown. New, sharp blades/bits cut it like butter. You won’t be cutting enough of anything to dull your stuff. The biggest difficulty is everything must be screwed together with the appropriate countersink bit. You can not shoot or...
Save the curved piece you remove for a template. Send me a pic if you want. I can have one of the fellas In the shop cut out the curve for ya if it gets tricky
No sir. Timber Town is fairly close to you.
I am assuming you are replacing 3/4 slate of some kind. Is that correct?
This is Ipe. It is a Brazilian Hardwood
Like @DADI03 shows above, Putting them inside the band is code compliant and a good look as well. It also allows you to get rid of the double corner post, which some people don’t like.
I’m also a big fan of the metal panels. Fortress Railing makes excellent products. We use a lot of their...

As of Jan 2020 Ga is no longer using the prescriptive deck details. We are going by IRC now. That being said, the rail details in the above link are still applicable.
Man I’m trying to learn some cabinet making software now and it’s horrible. If one more person tells me “it’s intuitive” I’m gonna stab em in the head with a screwdriver.
I saw the word cheap and moved on. We would be around 6k for something this size
That being said there are all kinds of affordable options out there. We’re just not one of them lol.
