It’s a heck of a drive. Generation 3 Gun was hosted in Osage area for several years. It’s an all day drive, and even longer pulling a camper.

Mine have been action shooting since 11. One does 3 gun, Steel Challenge (I highly recommend), and USPSS. The other does everything... literally. She shoots long range, DMR, NRL22, revolver (ICORE), 3 Gun, USPSA, and anything Lee that hits her fancy. At 13 and 11 if they can safely handle and...

We attended the Chattanooga Rifle Club monthly match today. Starts at 0930hr, and they run 3 relays. We had a great time, and my oldest who didn’t originally didn’t gravitate toward the shooting sports knocked out Bronze even with a train wreck sitting string.

Also consider... I shoot IDPA with exactly what I carry every day. That’s the point of IDPA, if you want to race in a gun game, shoot USPSA

You can’t miss fast enough to win. Take twice as much Ammo as the given round count at a minimum. Make sure your squad mates know you are new, and it’s your first match. They will help, the shooting sports family is the best.
