They have a 20% off sale going on until April 3rd. They're good folks to do business with. They have tons of stuff between their equipment, sausage making supplies, and spices. Their sausage seasonings are great tasting and high quality. I bought some jalapeno herb seasoning and have yet to make...
I went to 2 different Krogers yesterday and came home with 1 rib roast. Richmond Hill didn't have any and Hinesville had 1 left. It was smaller than I wanted but there was no other choice. Richmond Hill had the pork butts for $.99 lb and I got the last 2 they had.
That Kitchenaid will work with the metal grinder attachment but if you think you'll be doing any serious grinding buy a quality standalone grinder. At least 3/4 hp is best. It's worth the small investment and will last a long time. I have a nice grinder but decided to try the Kitchenaid. I did 2...
Limit of 2 on this deal. I have one in the freezer that I'm going to thaw and cook this weekend. One of these will take its place. They also have pork butts on sale for $.99 lb. Haven't seen butts that low in a while.
Valentines Day dinner. Filets and Speck wrapped asparagus. Sautéed baby Bella’s and blackened shrimp on the side. The filets were what I cut off the Kroger tenderloin.
I drove the 30 minutes to Kroger in Richmond Hill to get one. They were not trimmed. The guy in the meat dept. rattled off some excuse about not knowing what's going on. They were labeled select. There's not that much waste from trimming one but it's the principle. I hate when stores do stuff...
Mississippi Pot Roast. I put this on about 1. Food Lion had them on sale last week so I picked a couple up to keep on hand. I'll make a pot of rice later. One of our favorite dinners.
Yes, this is a thing and it is good. Last night I seasoned some boneless skinless chicken thighs with Kinders Chili Verde seasoning and seared them in a skillet. I mixed this soup with a touch of water and covered the chicken with it and let it simmer. It was delicious.
I took a package of fresh pizza dough and stretched it into a greased cast iron skillet. I used alfredo sauce as the base and added chopped roasted garlic, shredded rotisserie chicken, artichoke hearts, and mozzarella cheese. Topped with some chopped fresh spinach. Baked at 450. It was kind of...
It's cooked through at 145 so I pull it around that temp or a little higher. It is really tender without falling apart and retains moisture. It is a mess to slice but worth it. I'm going to start doing it this way more often and vacuum seal and freeze so I'll have some whenever I want.
This is bbq from a boneless pork butt. I haven't done this in years. I saw boneless pork butts at Aldi and grabbed one. It came already wrapped in netting. I seasoned it with my butt rub and smoked it at 250 until internal temp hit 150. Roughly 3 1/2 hours. I put it in the fridge overnight to...
