Not really new to the game, but I believe most of Henry's current offerings will meet most of the OP's criteria 30 years from now. Given they are lever guns, they actually stand a chance of being around in 30 years also.
I have the 44 trapper and 357 with the 20" barrel. I replaced the front sight on the trapper with a fiber optic, makes a lot of difference. Another upgrade I strongly recommend is a brass follower. It makes feeding so much smoother.
I make money working a full time job, guns are a hobby. The only opportune time for me to sell is if I want something else and I need to balance my gun fund.
Same here, I find much more enjoyment shooting a single action revolver or lever gun over a black gun now days. Still have ARs and plastic pistols, they have their place. For most applications, old school is more than adequate for my needs.
I too own an old Model 85, no complaints.
Ive owned a couple of PT 1911's. While they were accurate and reliable, I always traded them off, just felt cheap compared to other brands.
The big picture of this story is the overall shift of companies across the US. "Business optimization" is what my company calls it or in other words, do more with less.
