If you're talking about the normal IMI 77 gr Razorcore stuff, it's not match grade, particularly. At least it doesn't shoot that way for me-- It's better than 55 gr. ball, but not the equal of say Black Hills 77 gr. match ammo... that stuff shoots great out of every gun with an appropriate...
Shootingthebull410 did a looooonnnnggg series of tests on Youtube to figure this out. Any of the 90 XTP loads was the winner (not HST, or Golden Saber, etc.). They don't reliably expand, an of them. The XTP pretty much does. Some loadings are better than other (containing the XTP). Look it...
You would think... but you're likely to be surprised. The group size doesn't just arithmetically grow in size like it mostly does from a rifle. It'll be larger than that, probably, from my limited experience. Slugs don't behave as well as spinning bullets do.
Fun fact... rifle group size...
I know people that were in the Serbian war. Per them, the city fighters wanted AKs, but guys fighting in the country would gladly trade an AK for an SKS. You can get much lower to the ground with an SKS.
Great guns for the price, back around 1990-- when Norinco steel core was $99/1200 rounds...
Well, I'm back from the range. Mine (or I) is/am not capable of softball sized groups at 100. These are at 50, and there are some .44 Mag (revolver) and .45-70 hits on there as well. Winner? Looks like plain 'ole Remington Slugger 1 oz. full power... But the Fed Tru-ball still looks good...
That may be as good as I'm going to get... other folks have done better though it sounds like. Well, I have five types of slugs to try. Don't have that full-power Federal though, only the "reduced" load. Slug availability is still spotty.
Because it's a defensive shotgun, and rifled bores are worthless with buckshot, which is the primary load. I'd still like to be able to cover my whole back yard though. And just neat to have a gun that really is capable of multiple roles.
Keep 'em coming. Sounds like some folks are getting good accuracy.
My 3-gun shotgun will definitely do 12" groups at 100, with the fiber bead sight, but I am hoping for better using a red-dot.
By good I mean 6" or better for say 5 shots. And I mean around the point of aim (or at a known, expected point).
Just wondering... I'm about to try five more types of slugs to find something that will improve over the 14" I'm getting with Fed Tru-Ball. These days that's $6-$15 of ammo for...
You guys really are going to convince me to change out the Anderson lower on my competition rifle for something better. : )
I'd hate to take it to a class and have the lower somehow break on me... which it sounds like is actually a possibility.
The gentleman is right though about folks taking...
But not everyone _is_ getting burned. There's a price/performance continuum, and new people need to calibrate their budget and needs against that continuum. It's useful to hear about problems... and also about successes.
Dang, y'all are making me want to buy some name-brand uppers at triple the price... even though my Andersons have worked fine for many thousands of rounds.... maybe I got lucky.
Good point though about re-sale... it's easy to buy another lower and just swap out parts to put a better name...
Is there anything wrong with their lowers? I mean-- $35... That's practically disposable.
Updated: I see others are describing problems with the lowers. Interesting. I'll keep reading.

Belts... Bigfoot for the money. Sparks sharkskin for exceptionally good looking that won't ever wear out (triple the price though).
Kydex is too poky for me... interesting about the safety factor of Kydex with safetyless guns though-- I haven't heard that before. Doesn't affect me though; I don't carry any guns like that.
A high-quality leather holster is a thing of beauty, imparting a pride of ownership plastic cannot...
