I'd say depends on circumstances...
Buddy of mine lost his house due to electrical fire...entire collection was scrap.
But as for me, I'd rather have just one more of anything I'd want...may take me a while to decide lol
My wife doesn't wish to carry at this point in time, but has been seriously contemplating it ever since our kids came.
When she shoots handguns, she loves her 38 spl snub. She doesn't do well with mags and slides, let alone clearing malfunctions at any kind of speed. She loves the point and...
Wow, this thread turned from recommendations, experiences, and stats to who's poor and who's rich and why either one is better than the other.
Poor comparisons made between the 2 models (the corvette and focus one was stupid as hell, not nearly the same, even for price point reference)
As for...
Honestly, depends what your looking to do with either.
If you already have a .45 semi, get the Alaskan. As you say, you pair up with your Henry.
45 auto is cheaper and more available. If you don't have a 45 semi, grab the sig
So update ODTers....
I can't do it...
I had it all out for pictures, and it's just to hard to sell. I put some work into the stock (original coating would flake off by looking at it) and I guess I'm more attached than I thought i was. Kinda like selling a pet feeling.
Wife (who deems I must sell...
This is true, and part reason I have a hard tune deciding.
I still have a t53, and if this was some old Mauser, Springfield, Enfield etc etc, it wouldn't even be a debate.
Money is on the tight side, and this is why I gotta sell one to get another. I just don't have anything else I'm willing...
Thanks for all the inputs. Nice to see collective thinking.
On my thinking, I just don't use my mosin(s) often, and I think the biggest reason why I havnt gotten into a newer rifle yet is NOTHING I'm looking at has iron sights (unless you drop 900+) which for me I'm like...its a basic bokt...
Hello ODT buddies.
I've recently had an urge to sell my matching "hex" mosin with its goodies and pills and purchase a ruger american predator in 308 18" barrel...
Would the mosin be worth holding onto? Or would the 308 be a better "investment" (I rarely shoot my mosin, but Im a sucker for a...
Actually I have done the wood targets you mention. They're fun for few rounds, then they're too split up lol
As for steel, I have 5 of them 6, 8, 10, 12 ,16"
2 on chains, 1 in hangers. Other 2 mounted on Chevy lifter springs and do quite well : )
Alrighty...so I've been in the shooting world practically my whole life and everyone knows, reactive targets are awesome!
Since there's always something new to be learned, I wonder what reactive targets you all enjoy when having a fun day shoot.
Classic cans n jugs, bottles etc...I only...
Gen 2 also have better feed ramp. I'd say the tabs are "necessary" as people were adding "screws" on gen 1's just to stop the mag from locking up the bolt/action
I bought a used one, and when sighting it In, I only had one "light strike" on a tul ammo, turns out the primer was set deeper than others.
Ran about 150 rounds through it. Cleaned it and proceeded to buy buy buy...fell in love with it.
Got a rise 434 trigger group, slightly filed it to go over...
THIS! thank you for actually answering my discussion properly. Though I know numbers differ, but I do like the acknowledgement of training and to plan ahead to have enough to do so.
I totally get the "in a perfect world" bit...as for that much ammo, I'd have to bury shipping containers to store...
Behind the times or not...not everyone has time to hunt for reloading supplies (and the $1000's upfront cost that cones with that) or the time to actually sit down to reload. Infact, I crunched the numbers when I was getting ready to invest in reloading my 6.5cm...just for me to START saving...
Hey woah now people...lol
No need to be hostile, but I'm simply asking if you had a "set amount" of ammo that you just wouldn't use, ever, until it's stupidly needed, how much would you recommend (for your needs of course)
I'm not talking about enough rounds for training/plinking/or just...
