I spent a lot of money putting mine together and it’s very capable of a lot longer ranges than I have access to. Only 400 yards at the local club. It’s still pretty fun and I get to check the long range box off my want list. But I do constantly look for opportunities to shoot longer range.
Old school long action savage 110 flat top in 7mag. Choate machine stock, #8 contour McGowan barrel and a IOR Valdada 10x. Longest I’ve shot it out to is 500 yards but the Elbert Co gun club is where I normally go and it’s a 400 yard range. It loves 175 SMK with 66.5 grains of Retumbo
I agree %110 an I'll be the first to say I haven't had near as much (real world) training as I would like, and I carry everyday, sure plenty rounds down range, target both static and on the move but i couldn't imagine the fear and adrenaline that would be involved in a life or death situation...
