The mall scenes were all shot in Gwinnett Place... not sure how much of that is still open, but the show shot around the food court.
I quit going to Gwinnett Place when I was concerned that _I_ might get shot around the food court.
On a different note, I'm old enough to know that the first movie was called "Star Wars". Not "Episode IV" or some nonsense. They didn't make that up until the 90s.
There's another thread on this, Geaux. Everyone's right; it gets good in 2 and 3, and 4... but I'll tell you right now, the ending is crap.
Lost/The Leftovers/It/Battlestar Galactica/insert name of other good program where the writers wrote themselves into a corner with no way out/etc.
Of course. I watched the original the night before I went to see the remake. : )
BTW, I took LFI-1 and Mas Ayoob was asked what movies most accurately portrayed street crime. He immediately said "Death Wish, the first one". Unexpected sudden encounters, multiple attackers, etc.
The new one...
...bunch of gun hooey in there. He manages to cut his hand with the slide, while firing a Glock 17 ONE HANDED. Manages to acquire copious amounts of 9mm ammo from somewhere, after being told it takes 30 days or so just to get the required IL FOID... then he manages later (without FOID even)...
I remember where I was and what I was doing when I first heard "Welcome to the Jungle". Bought the album on the way home. Was tired of it by the time "Sweet Child of Mine" was released as a single, 'cuz I wore it out before then. And why did "Mr. Brownstone" never get released as a single...
I saw it the other day, and thought it was the best SW movie since The Empire Strikes Back. Loved that it has no f'ing kiddies in it, or cuddly toy tie-ins.
Massive, massive plot problems with data storage solutions, terminals, antennas, and how exactly did all those fighters get underneath...
Very much concur with the lot of you-- new Star Trek was good. New "Star Wars" was boring garbage. And we have a never ending stream of such drivel to look forward to annually.
Westworld was written by Michael Crichton-- it has that going for it. And it's before most of the other "robots go...
I thought it was all right. But geez I wanted to grab those pistol magazines and turn them over. What kind of moron shoves his pistol mags in a mag carrier bullets up-- in the freakin' DESERT? I guess it was to show the clueless what those things were, but it was annoying.
Fun to see an SKS...
Best music (OK 90s, crap since-- and I _like_ techno and rap. Still crap since 2000.). Reagan. Maggie. End of Cold War. Cheap ammo, no full-auto mfg ban. No such thing as "pre-ban". What wasn't to like? (Other than the massive spike in size of government kicked off by Reagan not vetoing...
