I watched it. Seemed to have kinda the same "look," but it was rife with DEI in the cast. A woman elf high battle commander, DEI elves and other creatures... Nonetheless, I'll keep watching it until I don't. I get it as part of Prime which I have mainly for free shipping.
Weekly network shows used to be 22-23 episodes EVERY season. Like clockwork....now? You're lucky to see 10 - in a lot of cases it's just 8 episodes. They cite increased costs, lack of advertising and revenue generation and a whole plethora of reasons - the latest is Covid... And, even the...
Imagine the corollary of a planet inhabited by Native Americans living off the bounty of the land and ecologically balancing their existence against an increasing imposition of outside sources ROBBING them of their environment while reverently respecting it.
That's Dune and the desert people...
It's what I call it.....lead(s) virtually unknown to me but check some kind of box (understandable because I'm an old fart). I guess all I can say is I'm not about to scramble out and find some HBO Max venue just to stream it. I can wait until the shine has gone off the apple, so to speak..
I liked the 1984 version, frankly. This new one's release previews haven't impressed me, really. My overall impression beyond all the updated techno-movie stuff is they went with "woke-represented" main characters that fit some kind of pre-established criteria that didn't have anything to do...
yeah I figured there were still venues out there. My main consideration now is being able to add through Prime or Hulu......it appears you can't. I'm glad you got a plus-up surprise with your AT&T plan, though. :0)
I liked that option of adding/removing also. I think HBO really screwed the pooch on this one. I don't think they can replace all the Amazon subscribers they lose with just people who want to see Dune. Methinks HBO is just too damned greedy and they saw how they could lock out a market with...
Looks like we'll both have to wait until HBO's lockout has run its course. One source I read about HBO and Amazon breakup is that it would lose about 5M subscribers, so they're gonna milk this Dune thing for all it's worth, I'm afraid...
Personally, right now I'm guessing that I'll end up...
It appears that HBO has sole rights for streaming at present and it's only showing on HBO Max. To make matters worse, HBO (and HBO Max) is no longer even available as a video channel on Amazon Prime, Roku, or Google Streaming (as I understand). Even the HBO supplement available on Hulu will...
And Neo don't look anything different? From what I see in the trailer, Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) has stood the test of time better than any of them, frankly.
I'm thinking the doesn't have a sense of appropriate character flow in his career timeline...... Going from the Wick chronicles to that revival of the Bill and Ted pointless movie and now to a Matrix revival? Just a little hard to choke down on the fan character immersion realm, IMO...
Like the reprise of Neo and Trinity with the original characters but think replacing Orpheus with some other lookalike is a gamble that most potential viewers wouldn't know the difference it isn't Fishburne. As far as reprises of old great movies go, I'm really looking forward to seeing...
