  1. 12 bolt pinion gear found!

If you bought a 12 bolt positraction unit with a ring gear (but no pinion) from me at a swap meet several years ago: I FINALLY FOUND THE PINION. Sorry that I've lost your phone number but if you send me a PM, I'll get the gear to you.
  2. Any TH350 transmission experts on here?

Not yet. I'll be taking the car someplace to get it done. I don't have the equipment to pull the trans myself.
  3. Any TH350 transmission experts on here?

The trans is the same as when I bought the car but I know nothing about the internals. It has a stock dipstick and tube and a aftermarket finned aluminum pan. I'm certain that overfill is not the cause. When it sits for a few days and leaks down, the trans won't go into gear until I add some fluid.
  4. Any TH350 transmission experts on here?

I know there are several seals that can leak but this trans doesn't leak anywhere until it sits for a few days and then it leaks a lot from high up on the case. The dipstick shows overfull then. But when I start it up and shift through the pattern, the dipstick is dry (no fluid showing). I'm...
  5. Any TH350 transmission experts on here?

Thanks, but I'm sure that it's coming out the vent and only after it sits for a few days.
  6. Any TH350 transmission experts on here?

    The vent is clear.
  7. Any TH350 transmission experts on here?

No, it's parked on my level garage floor.
  8. Any TH350 transmission experts on here?

The level on the dipstick goes down when it's running. The fluid goes back into the torque converter but it doesn't stay there for more than 2 or 3 days, then starts to overflow.
  9. Any TH350 transmission experts on here?

My 1972 Camaro doesn't get driven regularly. When it sits for a few days, the fluid in the torque converter drains into the transmission and raises the fluid level to the point that it overflows from the vent on top of the case. Other than driving it every day, what's the fix? I'm assuming that...
  10. MUSCLE CARS: The Beauty of Classics & Moderns Super-Cars

In 1975 a co-worker offered to sell me his 1969 Yenko Camaro for $2,500. I thought he was asking too much.
  11. MUSCLE CARS: The Beauty of Classics & Moderns Super-Cars

A lot of car shows and cruises have been cancelled because of the virus. Looks like Dawsonville's Moonshine Festival is off the calendar. Anybody know for sure?
  12. E3 spark plugs

Have you tried them? Do you think that they are worth paying twice as much as a regular plug?
  13. Workshops

We bought a house with a full, unfinished basement 30 years ago. Basement was less expensive than a separate garage/shop building. I have garage space for 2 cars and a small room for a workbench and machine tools. Air compressor is in another room and I ran a long rubber hose overhead to the...
  14. F.I. engine stalling because of slow idle speed

I don't have a code reader/scanner. Maybe a parts store can do that. Thanks, everybody.
  15. F.I. engine stalling because of slow idle speed

My 2003 GMC (owned since new) with a 4.8L V8 and automatic trans has started stalling sometimes when the engine hasn't completely warmed up. The idle speed gets too slow, causing the stall. It starts up with no problem, idles fast enough for a few minutes, then gets too slow until completely...
  16. Reputable Mechanic for AC repair around Gwinnett?

  17. 2015 RAV 4...Need a new battery....suggestions???

Diehard is probably the best but I buy Interstate because my local Interstate dealer has such great customer service.
  18. Gear Jam Vintage Drags at Commerce

This Saturday, Aug. 31, at Atlanta Dragway. Anybody going? Been before? Is the swap meet good? I'm thinking about going as a vendor.
  19. 100k Mile Checklist

Radiator hoses, heater hoses, idler pulleys.
  20. BBC piston cutting

You can do it but the dome is probably hollow and if you remove too much it will collapse under compression. Measure the dome thickness carefully before cutting.
