  1. Need load for 44 mag 1000fps

Yes I saw those. I know that jacketed bullets are slower that cast when fired with the same load. I am not sure what percent slower they go or if there is any way to compute it.
  2. Need load for 44 mag 1000fps

Guys I want to load up some JSP 240 gr 44 mag to 1000 fps. IN A RIFLE. Anyone have a recipe for that? BEst I can come up with is 8.5 gr Unique. Only concern is that 8,5gr is below starting loads in my books. I am seeing it as starting for CAST 240 gr at about 1125 fps. I know that jaceted...
  3. How many primers do you have on-hand

Its never too late to get into reloading. Back in 1967 when I started, primers were 88 cents for a box of 100. We thought that was expensive then, but if you look up inflation, 88 cents in 1967 is the same as $7.94 today. That is how much primers cost most places here today. Jump in the...
  4. How many primers do you have on-hand

I thought having about 50k primers was enough, almost. I am underpowered.
  5. BEST PRIMIMG TOOL TO COME TO THE MARKET

I have this tool also, and agree it is the best priming tool I have ever seen. Wllacem
  6. On the cheap.. Lee Loader 38sp 357mag . Have you used one?

I started reloading with a 38/357 Lee Loader back in 1967. Slow but it worked and it didn't take long for me to buy a press. Wallacem
  7. I think I messed up 300 cases

Yeah, I don't have the gauge, but when I got the tool I set it up correctly, and have used it for several years, and just recently, when I went to do these 300 cases, I thought, maybe, it has settled a bit and needed to be tightened up a little, without thinking I could take it too far. Sure...
  8. I think I messed up 300 cases

Appreciate your thought but no, the primer is going in about 95% of the way. Crimp is well removed.
  9. I think I messed up 300 cases

Yeah I understand your idea and it probably might work, but as you mentioned, it will be more time and effort than it is worth. I have more brass than I will ever need anyway. Thanks for your idea and all others above. Wallacem
  10. I think I messed up 300 cases

I swaged 300 LC .556 cases with my Dillon Swager. I had not tightened it in a long time so I thought it might be good to adjust it a little more to make sure I am swaging it enough. I think big mistake. Went to prime them and noticed the first case, the primer won't go in far enough. sticks...
  11. Reloading for a Kahr CW45 with tight chamber

Yes, it sounds like you have an extra tight chamber. It should accept 180 gr ammo with no problem. Sounds like the bullet is sticking in the lands. Short throat. Wallacem
  12. Reloading for a Kahr CW45 with tight chamber

None of my reloads would pass the plunk test on either of my 9mm, 40, or 45 Kahr. The reloads worked flawlessly in every other brand gun I have. Wallacem
  13. Reloading for a Kahr CW45 with tight chamber

That die would probably solve the problem. All my Kahrs would shoot factory ammo without a hitch, but didn't like the larger size that reloads always are. Wallacem
  14. Reloading for a Kahr CW45 with tight chamber

That is true. They all seem to have very tight chambers. Wallace
  15. What happened to H414?

If you feel like trying something new, try H380. It is my new favorite for 22-250.
  16. What have you reloaded today?

Decided to play with some 30-30 with some 118 gr cast bullets with plain base gas checks installed and sized to .311. Loaded 10 rounds with 9 gr of red dot and 10 rounds with 8.7 gr or unique. both should be about 1600 fps fired from my MGM bbl on my Encore. Just want to check the grouping it...
  17. Small-Base Dies - maybe it's me? RESOLVED!

I only question is why did you want to use small base dies? Maybe I was taught wrong, but I always thought you only sue small base dies IF regular dies did not chamber well in your gun. Am I wrong here? Wallacem
  18. Anyone got a hot 110gr 300 blackout load?

I think if you check the Hodgdon reloading data online, you will find the 110 gr and 125 gr both show 21 grains of Lil'gun as max, and 2475 fps fr the 110 gr, and 2405 fps for the 125 gr. both great loads.
  19. Reloading for a Kahr CW45 with tight chamber

Another little reloading hint for those of you with a Kahr CW45 pistol. Every Kahr 45 I have seen seems to have a tight chamber. Most have an issue with reloads. I reloaded as usual and then I ran the finished reload thru my 444 sizing die. Made it just right for the Kahr chamber. Wallace
  20. Was playing with loading today. It worked.
