300 gr. .44 mag "bear stopper" rounds. Just because.
And yikes! They jumped the crimp and jammed the revolver. My idea of "heavy crimp" was evidently not heavy enough.
Recoil not awful even with M69 snubby.
You make a good point... lanolin or beeswax and 100% alcohol (Heat) is probably the formula for One Shot. Might be cheaper to do it yourself. One Shot is pricey, but a little goes a long way.
Alexander's in Blairsville has lots of powder and primers, FWIW, when I was there a couple of weeks back. Prices though, are high.
Lots of Bullseye, Unique, 2400, Retumbo, and seemingly all the AA powders. It was nice to see stocked shelves again, even though prices are high. I hauled a pile...
Absolutely... you have to have a 1050 (or higher) with all the accoutrements to make it time-efficient. And what is that? $3000? It'll take the original poster many years to break even. But yeah, that's the way to go if you do an awful lot of one particular caliber. One of my competition...
What he said. When you can buy new brass-cased ammo for $0.37 a round delivered (plus tax), it isn't REMOTELY worth your time. Even with a 1050 with brass trimmer built in, it's not worth your time even when ammo wast 50 or 60 cents a round. You'll be paying yourself less than minimum wage...
As Palmetto and others mention, you must lube rifle brass. There is no way around that. Though also as Palmetto states, it need not be very much lube.
I use One Shot, but I use it in a gallon ziplock on a bunch of cases at a time. With a bit of experience, you'll get plenty of lube on and...
Powder is getting more available... Varget for the first time in three years, for example. Brownells has it in 8 lb cans, and Powder Valley in 1 lb cans.
No sign of Bullseye and Unique yet though. Or Retumbo, XBR-8208, any of the Reloder powders...
There used to be a couple in Alabama you could drive to and get huge discounts if you bought in bulk, and picked up.
Magnus, maybe? There was another one though, over by Anniston. I never bought in bulk from either, but have heard about huge group buys in the past.
Check Summers Enterprises in FL. I haven't ordered anything from them in a while, but they're cheap for 9mm.

Whatcha doin' with all those wadcutters? I gotta assume some sort of competition. Must not be precision or you wouldn't be mixing brass.
Me, I got pretty good at the Atlanta bowling pin shoots with a revolver a few years back. Nothing like that in central TX, very sad to say.
So Reloading International has just received a shipment of Northfork bullets, though I expect this first batch is all spoken for. Production moved to Sweden IIRC, and COVID delayed everything by like a year.
These are among the best (best IMO) African hunting bullets in medium and big-bores...
Hornady One Shot in a Ziplok bag works great.
Previously I used a shoe box lined with newspaper, and Dillon case lube. That worked great, too. But the newspaper eventually wore out, and so much for that technique.
If you put them in a loading tray, One Shot will let you get the mouths, too...
I've been using steel wool, but I'll try the Scotchbrite. Maybe it's easier than I think to fix, but I sure wish I didn't need yet another step.
Thinking Giraud more and more.
It's an edge, right "below" the mouth of the case, where the outside chamfer tool isn't cleaning up the leftovers from the trimming operation. Happens with both of my trimmers. All calibers. Outside mouth chamfering tools don't clean it up, and neither does steel wool.
