This is my old faithful right here. Ruger M77 in 22-250. I guess it's probably killed everything that's walked or crawled, at least here in the Southeast. Love this rifle, not one I'll ever part with.
I've killed several whitetails in GA with a Kimber 45 using Black Talon ammo. I used that particular ammo because I had it and wanted to see how it performed, which was excellent. I would bet any quality HP would work fine with correct shot placement. Also, I have used ball ammo, but for head...
Pick up a fall copy of GON. Can I even say that here? Anyway, they usually offer a section as the season is coming on that is broken up for various areas of the state. It generally includes what kind of hard and soft mast is available in areas, scouting reports, terrain to focus on, WMA...
Wow...I'm shocked to read that. My father had some trouble with poachers on his property. The DNR officer in the article is the one that assisted with it. Our experience with him was totally professional. It'll be interesting to see how all this turns out.
Shoot no...I would never ask them to delay a trip on my behalf. Let them put it together and have fun with it. I've no doubt they'll be some more trips...probably a ton of them by the looks of it.
We cut ours at 1/4" as well, and unless I'm losing my mind...which is entirely possible...it takes our dehydrator right at four hours to get it just right. I don't know if different dehydrators take different times though.
Buy a cheap call and mimic the sounds you hear the crows making themselves. You can kill them repeatedly, especially if you have room on your property to move around after each round of shooting. Also, if you've got an open place to do it, put up an owl or hawk decoy. They are natural enemies...
Now I'm tracking. It would probably help me tremendously if I paid attention to who posted what. LOL. No worries on me parking like that...I get out in the hills to do my hunting.
I was just referring to the OP...he mentioned using a game camera. I'd like to have one that could make these type photos if that is what they came off of.
If the pic of the single fawn bedded down is from a game camera, I definitely like to know the model that took that shot. I don't know of one that has the ability to focus like that.
