Some of us used to leave our campers unlocked all year in the club I was in. The thieves would do more damage trying to pry the doors open. I wouldn’t leave anything of any value in mine, not even the fire extinguisher. It seems the thieves figured if the door was locked there must be something...
I can’t hunt anymore but the last 15 years or so that I did I carried. Had an encounter with an infamous thief of Meriwhether/Coweta county after a morning sit. I generally hunted with a muzzleloader all season so it made sense to carry a little something extra.
These cool crisp mornings are killin me. I haven’t been able to hunt the last three years due to disability. As a life long hunter I miss the hell out of it.
Not to sound like a pecker or anything but does he really need to be hunting? Not zeroing his rifles? Even the coyote deserves a clean ethical kill shot...
It was green scored but I believe he’s gonna have it scored again (before the 60 day) to verify the first total. He wants to be 100% sure about it. I will say the gross was easily above 170, which is why he wants to verify it.
Met up with him today at the cooler so I could put my hands on the rack and get some pictures. My grandson was fascinated with it. Every bit as big as the pics look. I told him the ODT crew sent congrats. A few hugs, handshakes and smiles, lol.
I asked him if GON was aware of it and I believe he said they were. The rough green score is damn impressive. Depending on deductions after the final scoring it should make BC. I’m praying it does. Either way no doubt a once in a lifetime deer. Knowing him and the effort and passion he has for...
A good friend of mine killed this giant yesterday. 22yd. Quartering away, he didn’t get a pass thru but stuck him perfectly. Couldnt be prouder of him, I took him hunting for the first when he was a teenager.
I can relate to how you feel. Years ago I took a friend hunting and he ended up killing an 8 that net 143. I had seen the deer several times during bow season but could never get a clean shot. First sit during gun season the buck comes in and I’m raising my gun to shoot him and boom. Dude shoots...
If you put it on it an ant hill be sure to stake it down somehow. Dogs and such will pick em and chew on em. I’ve had to chase my Great Danes around a few times trying to get em back.
When I was a meat cutter and processed deer part time we would occasionally run into cancer that looked a lot like that as far as color and texture. I only saw tumors from time to time but they looked very similar to that, especially when we hit them with a bandsaw blade inadvertently. Side...
