Thanks! I certainly agree and have a couple of nice pairs of binoculars that were great to have in the park. That is the second time I have seen the Kowa recommended so will look into it!
I am no photographer so this was with a Canon that does 35x optical and 140x digital. This was at 140x on a tripod. My rangefinder only does 1500yds and this was well over a mile.

We just got back from Yellowstone and realized my spotting scope needs an upgrade. I have a Celestron Ultima 65 which is fine for basic range use and pretty clear up to about 30x. Watching wolves chase baby buffalo in the Lamar valley at a mile away left me wanting more.

I wear the 5.11 apex tactical guner belt... I have a brown and black and wear them in place of dress belts. Zero stretch or roll and I carry iwb and owb with them.
Thanks for the tip... Briefly borrowed my wife's flat iron so that I could heat the port area from the inside then formed it by inserting the slide... Smoothed it out nicely to diminish possible wear potential.:thumb:
It is rubberized and surprisingly thin. Does not hang up on holster or clothing like some rubbery materials and conforms to the dimples/grooves of the frame once you hit it lightly with a heat gun or hair dryer.
