Get into ham radio.... With the no code license its a cake walk. Use UHF bands for local and DX legally. Get involved with clubs, help in disasters.... It's a great hobby. I've been a ham since 1965. And still love low power DX (QRP)
Been a ham since high school (1963) I cant recall my Novice call but have upgraded over the years. Most active of HF bands, I have a couple 2m & 440 rigs buts seldom get on too much like CB these days......(TIC)
This trip is coming together. The trailer is in the driveway. I'm prepping and getting things like electric (shore power) adapters, stocking the pantry, dishes & cooking utensils. I've been familiarizing myself with all the gadgets and features. I put my MAC Mini on board but not sure if I...
More research.... I don't need Roger ranger to ticket or detain me while visiting the planned National Parks. What I've read is a new law was enacted 2/22/2010 allowing firearms on National Park lands. However, I can't verify if you need to declare you have weapons. I am not speaking directly...
I'm looking for camping areas (RV) on the North rim. I want the best view possible. Bella likes her duck jerky. Food she's restricted to no grain, pig & sweet potato or TOW prairie mix.

That canyon hike would have been doable 25 -40 years ago. But sadly, I'm a old fat gimp that needs a cane to walk. I'll be driving and hauling a 25' trailer along with my truck dog Bella. The Canyon Camp ground (Inside the park) seems pretty nice. I'd like to spend 2-3 days at each...
I do have a GoPro and use it when hunting. For "Scenic Views" its seems to fisheye a lot. I'm thinking along the lines of a Canon Rebel or a Nikon but I dont need interchangeable lens capability. Something with the photographic quality (pixals) a good feel, not ting like the snapshot...
I looked for that about a year ago. All the agents showed me were run down foreclosures on cabin rental. Most were trashed and asking way too much $$$$$$$.
Maybe a piece of land and a double wide Alabama mansion.
That brings up another problem. All I have is an iPhone for a camera. I'd really like to get some great pictures
while at the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, Mt Rushmore. I am planning also to do a daily blog/diary sort of
"On the Road With Shovelhead"
Any camera suggestions? Nothing too "Pro"
Well we had a plan of RVing before the wife passed away. I've been thinking hard about it and decided she would want to continue as planned. We camped a lot before her health issues. Mostly tenting and we did have a small Scottie trailer in the mid 80's. I'm too old to be messing with a tent...
OK I am the absolute worse when it comes to real cigarette smoke. I quit cold turkey in 1980 after smoking for 20 years. I wont go into details why other then cancer was involved. I wont even ride an elevator or MARTA because of the residual smell. It seems the current and near current...
