Stayed out there till he was 82.
  2. Oil lanterns...everbody should have a few.

I have a few railroad (red) lanterns. They are Chinese and cheap, but work on Kerosene and I've used them a few times.
  3. Bad REI Experience

I went to the one here in Pigeon Forge and man o man that place was high!
  4. Barbarians at the gate

I thought this thread was about an impending BM....
  5. Quonset Hut Home

Every base I've been on has had Quonset huts. The Houston County BOE even has a few. I like them and would live in one without issue. The ones I've been in have ranged from decent insulation and damp/musty to blown modern insulation that were bone dry and completely climate unaffected.

Got the DVD at the house. Dick was the man.
  7. Best Survival Knife

Beat me to it. That's the important part...Having one.

    Dick Proehnneke
  12. If you were to bury something for an emergency, what would it be?

I was going to suggest "block twine". It cuts pvc/cpvc like a champ.
  13. Likelihood of riots after this murder trial, your opinion?

I think the "masses" may get a little lucky say in a place like NYC, Chicongo, or LA with all this rioting foolishness, but if folks truly think they are gonna just assault pepole and tear up towns in sub-urban and rural-ish southeastern states that are gravely mistaken. There are pretty...
  14. I have made fire!

Dryer lint burns like oily rags. GREAT firestarter. Cotton balls with Vaseline too. I have started fires with bow and drill, Magnifying glass, 2 "D" cell batteries with 3 bread ties on opposite ends (this will burn your fingers too if you hold the wires), and the Magnesium fire starting block...
