How accurate are burn rate charts? Many show different data. Is one better than another? Im still fairly new to reloading and see a good variety of powders to choose from. Lil gun, h110, 296 all about the same thing? Should i use faster powders for shorter barrels?

thanks for the info. the crescent moon definitely means its Egyptian the marks on the top are worn,like the rest of the gun,and look almost like tally marks. my dad wants to think it a rifle used to kill yankees so im not gonna tell him anything
gun show in Corpus Christi tx yesterday, i walked up to an old mans table, he had a bunch of miscellaneous items, axes,survival tools,etc. in the middle of the table an 8lb unopened jug of accurate #9 for $100 and a bag of 500 158gr 357's for $25. i couldnt believe it.

reloading 300blk. factory loads from 150-220gr are all close to the 2.260" max. why do my manuals have a 110gr c.o.l. listed as 2.050? seems like a significant difference. isnt the goal to get the bullet closer to the barrel?
