  1. What made you decide on the username you use?

I'm rice paddy daddy on most of the forums i belong to because I'm a Vietnam Veteran. I brazenly lifted it from a 1960's anti war song by a very obscure group called The Fuggs.
  2. What made you decide on the username you use?

Nope. A kilo is 2.54 pounds. Of course, I wouldn't know anything about kilo bales of leafy organic material.:):D:cool:
  3. For the Vets

Thank you. It was an honor and a privilege to have served our country. Vietnam, Sept 1969 - Sept 1970.
  4. New to ODT site and its awsome comunity

Welcome from the SE Georgia/NE Florida border. No drinking at our place, sorry. I'm allergic to alcohol. It makes me break out in handcuffs.
  5. New guy

    Welcome!!
  6. Are these guys serious?

I do agree on not flipping the cylinder closed on a revolver with a flip of the wrist.
  7. Without Googling m, how many vets remember the name of these and got your meals from one???

Mermite cans. In Nam we had one small signal detachment on a radio intercept camp, and once a day we'd load up a hot meal for them and run it out by jeep. I was a company cook on a combat base. I'm very familiar with those. And M1937 field stoves, which ran on gasoline and compressed air.
  8. 22 magnum price rant

Manufacturers are too busy cranking out the popular calibers to waste time on slow movers such as 22 WMR and .410 shotgun. Accordingly, the price is tied to availability. Just think about trying to find .35 Remington or 16 gauge.
  9. What type of gun enthusiast are you?

Somewhere north of 60 firearms. In 21 different calibers and gauges, and i have ammo for all. Enough that I have to keep it out in the barn in case the house catches fire. Military and civilian. Some 100+ years old, some made last year. But NO Glocks or AR's.
  10. Looks like Florida will get permit less concealed carry.

I'll still keep my Florida concealed firearms or weapons license. So I can carry in states that recognize my license. It's not like I never leave the state.
  11. M 1 Garand

Old wives tale. You can shoot any ammo loaded to SAAMI specs with bullet weights of around 172 grains or less. Even the CMP says so. I've shot commercial Winchester and Remington soft point 150 grain ammo for years.
  12. Quality Florida Gun Forum?

Florida Shooters Network. It's been around for years, I haven't visited in a while, i don't know how active it is anymore.
  13. M 1 Garand

Mine's a 1945 Springfield, and if she could cook I'd marry her!! Whenever someone shoots it for their first time, the smile on their face could be seen from outer space. Right now she's leaning up in my bedroom with a USGI cloth bandoleer holding 6 loaded clips hanging from the stacking swivel...
  14. S&W .32

As others have noted, 32 WCF (Winchester Central Fire) is also generally known as the 32-20. Ammo is readily available since this caliber had a rebirth in popularity because of Cowboy Action Shooting. I have a 1921 Colt Police Positive Special so chambered, and the 32 WCF is a bona fide self...
