I’ve checked antler traps with a friend but I never saw him have much luck with them. The idea makes sense though.

Antler traps are a good way to kill deer or mess their rack up next year.
Forcing the antler to shed too soon can
cause a piece of the antler pedicle to shear off with the shed antler. Worst case, the deer develops a brain abscess and dies.

You are liable to find them anywhere. This guy walks the bedding areas. I always check the foodplots to prevent losing a tire. This one was probably poached from the road.

Coco found the first one of the year for us about 2 weeks ago. Around February 1, I believe is when most are losing their antlers.

Interesting. Thanks for info. That only tool I've used personally for finding sheds with good success is a lawn mower.
